Get to Know Your Author: Noah Agrotes, The Temple of Consciousness

The Temple of Consciousness is about evolution—not as species, but as individual intelligent beings and consciousness load carriers. It shows readers the reality of the world we live in, particularly the harsh truth about business globalisation, technological development, debt, and our society. I teach readers the five fundamental principles of life that will help them find the evolutionary way, because that is what we need to survive in the long term. What made you want to write a book?
I saw that the world is going wrong in many ways. I thought to myself “This can’t be truth. I am in the middle of a nightmare.” However, this is the world we are living in. A nightmare, not only because it is a realm of mortality, but because of our species’ behaviour. I see the world moving quickly towards the singularity point of self-destruction. I realised that a shocking message needed to be transmitted to humankind, outside of my esoteric cosmos. It’s in my nature to write books, so I decided to spread the message of evolution and the new fundamental life with hope that some of my fellow species wake up from their lethargy. I don’t need many. One is enough. More than one is more than enough.
What type of people are you hoping to reach?
People with the urge to learn and adopt new, powerful knowledge, no matter their age or situation. Those who are doubters and sceptical of what’s going on in the world, but who don’t know how to transform their doubts into actions. To change their habits, their way of thinking, and the way they see the world. Difficulties are essential for our evolution, but we need the spiritual education to overcome them, and that’s what this book is for—people who want a new and different way to see the world and the universe.
How long did it take you to write it?
It took seven years to write. However, its current shape is the result of seven months of hard and devoted work by me and my editor. I don’t think that many authors devote seven years to writing and seven months to editing. I must say, because I know the nature of humans very well, that some “clever” people among them will say “Seven years and seven months for this rubbish?” Well, there are always naysayers, but I pay no attention to them and I will never quit my journey because of them. I simply ignore them, and I continue.
What was your biggest challenge in writing the book?
Convincing myself that there are people out there who will find my book interesting enough that they will invest their time and efforts into adopting this new way of life. Believing that there are people who are not slaves to their smartphones and social media, people who see that we are on the wrong path. Personally, I am a social media hater for serious reasons that I analyse in the book. Eventually, I convinced myself that there is an audience out there waiting with enthusiasm, love, and passion for something new, controversial, and different. Whether it’s an audience of one, or one million. There is a huge difference between zero and one, as I explain in the book. Zero is no life, one is life.
What was your biggest challenge in getting the book ready to publish?
Knowing how to market and promote my book. It is one thing to write a book and another thing to sell that book, especially as a debut author and social media hater! I never stop researching and calculating how to promote and sell my book. I will fight for two eternities to see my book as a literary triumph and to help people evolve.
What was your happiest moment in the process?
Any moment when I was able to fish out the titanic spiritual treasures that were hidden in the abyss of my brain. Always with the crucial support of my editor-coach. What a fisherman I was! When you finish writing, you think you are ready to publish, but there are always more revelations to bring to the surface of your mind.
Will you be writing more books?
Yes, and all of my future books will follow the same path as their father The Temple.
If you had one piece of advice for aspiring authors, what would it be?
Dear aspiring author, don’t trust anyone else apart from yourself and the team you carefully put together. Especially ignore the useless opinions of “experts” on literary activity. If I had listened even the slightest bit to them, I wouldn’t be here now to answer these questions as a published author. Ignore the people who say “you can’t write a book”. Just love your work with passion.
What is your favourite book?
I don’t have a favourite book, but I do read The Temple on a daily basis as I have a lot more to learn from it. I’m sorry if this sounds strange or narcissistic, but it is the truth. As an author, you have to love your book! You have to learn from it and consider it your daily gospel. To educate myself, I also read useful articles on science, technology, and economics, and scientificpapers from a few scientists I have chosen to follow. Use your time wisely in what you read—we do not have time to waste.
